Merchant data

Retail listings are sourced from BTC Map and © OpenStreetMap contributors. The retail database, including Saturday Bitcoin’s category mapping and normalised fields, is made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) 1.0. Any rights in individual database contents are licensed under the Database Contents Licence.

The downloadable snapshot contains 29,461 active geolocated records, including ATMs and exchanges. It was retrieved on 9 September 2026. Deleted records are excluded. Categories are mapped from the source’s icons; missing values are left unknown. A refresh timestamp is not a verification date.

Online businesses

658 entries come exclusively from the Ready to list rows of LIVE - Bitcoin Ecosystem Data — Operating Model (Source of Truth): 393 Bitcoin and 265 Everyday entries. Categories and subcategories are retained from that workbook. Approval for listing is separate from current Bitcoin acceptance and ownership verification. One date-formatted business name was restored to JAN3, checked at jan3.com. Internal notes and unapproved rows are not published.

Business images

Business images are supplied by BTC Map or discovered on the listed business website. The source and last asset check are retained with the listing. If no usable image is available, cards display Saturday Bitcoin’s category and subcategory illustrations without presenting it as the real business. Website image availability may change.

Editorial photos

The following photos are used as category inspiration. They do not depict the listed merchants unless a separate merchant-provided image is available. Editorial photos appear only in onboarding and legacy concept screens; merchant cards use their own brand asset or a matching illustrated fallback.

These editorial photos are used under the Unsplash License. Images attached to merchant listings remain attributed to their original source; we do not claim ownership of them.

Map

The interactive map uses Leaflet and OpenStreetMap tiles. Only tiles needed for ordinary interactive viewing are requested. The app does not download maps for offline use.

Open visitor stats

Saturday Bitcoin publishes first-party daily visitor and page-view estimates using anonymous daily browser identifiers. No names, IP addresses or browsing paths are stored by this analytics feature. View the counts and methodology.

Your contributions

Saved places and submitted updates are stored against your signed-in account. Business contact details and claim evidence are private. Contributions remain pending until reviewed. Saturday Bitcoin does not automatically send these submissions to BTC Map.

Featured merchants

Featured placements show the three highest paid bids globally or within a category. They are labelled Sponsored. Ownership and current Bitcoin acceptance must pass review before checkout can start. New approved business listings are held separately from the downloadable BTC Map snapshot.

Stripe collects payment details for featured advertising. Saturday Bitcoin stores the bid amount, board, merchant, account identifier, payment reference, and payment status; full card numbers are not stored by Saturday Bitcoin. Read the featured placement rules.

Referrals

When a visitor follows a merchant’s website link, Saturday Bitcoin records a referral visit with the merchant, time, and signed-in account identifier when available. These records are visits, not purchases. No referral commission agreements or referral payouts are active in this version.
