About Saturday Bitcoin
Saturday Bitcoin is a free directory of local places and online shops that accept Bitcoin. Each place shows when it was last checked, so you can see how current it is. Built by Bitcoiners, for Bitcoiners.
01 · Why it matters
Thousands of businesses already accept Bitcoin. Finding them is the hard part. Listings are scattered across maps, forums and old spreadsheets, and nobody can tell which ones still work.
Local shops on one map, online stores on another, the rest in group chats.
A pin from years ago is no proof a café still takes sats today.
With no sign of recent payments, every visit is a gamble.
When Bitcoiners cannot spend, merchants stop accepting. We exist to break that loop.

03 · How it works
Search a street, a city or the whole world. Local places and online shops sit in one directory, with maps, opening hours and how to pay: Lightning, on-chain or contactless.
Each place shows when it was last checked, and members can confirm it when they pay there. Businesses that claim a listing are reviewed for ownership and Bitcoin acceptance.
Businesses claim or add their listing, tell their story and post a Bitcoin offer. Featured spots put them in front of people ready to spend.
04 · Our data
Local places come from open data anyone can check, and each shows when it was last checked.
Local places are tagged on OpenStreetMap and re-checked by the volunteer Bitcoiners of BTC Map.
Online shops are added from a list our team curates.
Members can confirm a place when they pay. Owners who claim a listing can keep its details current.
We publish our normalized local listings data under the Open Database License, the same as OpenStreetMap. Sources and credits
05 · Our principles
06 · Who we are
Saturday Bitcoin is built by two Bitcoiners: one from merchant loyalty, one from product, operations and AI. Bitcoin has proven itself as savings. We want spending it to be just as easy, starting with finding the places that already accept it.
